The ATLAS collaboration brings extensive expertise in managing and analysing some of the largest scientific datasets ever produced. As one of the major experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, ATLAS has pioneered many of the technologies and operational practices that underpin modern distributed research infrastructure, including grid computing, federated identity, large-scale data management, workflow orchestration and international scientific collaboration. Through its participation in the IRIS community, ATLAS contributes knowledge gained from operating global computing systems that support thousands of researchers across hundreds of institutions. This expertise helps inform the development of digital research infrastructure, supports the sharing of best practice across scientific domains, and enables other communities to benefit from approaches proven at the scale of one of the world’s largest scientific experiments.
