The ISIS Neutron and Muon Source uses IRIS digital research infrastructure to support the management, analysis and long-term stewardship of the large and growing datasets produced by its world-leading experimental facilities. Researchers using ISIS generate complex data that must be stored, processed and made accessible to users distributed across the UK and internationally. Through IRIS, ISIS benefits from advanced computing, storage and data-management capabilities, including the Analysis Data Archive (ADA) and Data as a Service (DaaS) platforms. These platforms bring data, computing and analysis tools together, allowing researchers to access and analyse experimental data more efficiently without having to move large datasets between sites. By combining facility data with scalable computing and long-term storage services, IRIS helps ISIS deliver faster scientific insight, improve data accessibility and support collaborative research across a broad range of scientific disciplines, including materials science, chemistry, engineering, biology and environmental science.
